The Linguistics School’s academic year has drawn to a close. The main results are that our leavers have got places in the best HEEs: MSLU, MSIFA (U) MFA, SU Higher School of Economics, The All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, The Russian Plekhanov Academy of Economics, RSUH, MSUT Machinery, MIFL, Medical Schools and others.

24th June, 2011: 100 marks in the bag!!!
22nd June: Yaroslav Koryakin, Year 10b pupil of the Linguistics School, is a prize-winner in the correspondence contest in the Russian language: “Culturology and Inter-Cultural Communication” organised by the Moscow Open University. Well done!!!
20th June: the prize-giving ceremony has taken place for the participants in the Moscow contest in Economics which got heads soaring on 6th March, 2011. Well done to the winner, Maria Aralkina proud holder of a First-class Diploma and Linguistics School Year 9a pupil!!!
17th June: Today we have received the official results of the third compulsory USE for the Linguistics-mathematics School participants. And so, our results are something to be proud of!!! In the Russian language the minimum mark for Russia is 36 while the average mark for the Linguistics School iss 80 (!!!). In the English language the minimum mark for Russia is 20 while the average mark for the Linguistics School is 72.2 (!!!). In Mathematics the minimum mark for Russia Is 20 with an average mark for the Linguistics School of 52 (!). All indicators for the 2010/2011 academic year point to a significant growth in comparison with the previous academic year. Enormous gratitude to our teachers for their marvellous preparation of the pupils for the USE (incidentally, the Linguistics School already begins preparation in Year 10). Way to go, leavers!!!

At the beginning of May, University applicants became anxious at information from the mass media concerning changes in the list of required entrance subjects alleged to be about to occur in certain HEEs. The Ministry of Education has refuted this information. The reason for its emergence, it has been concluded is that on 1st May a Decree on the new list of entrance requirements came into force, however, the Education Ministry emphasises that in the current year only that list of subjects announced by HEEs on 1st February, 2011 would be valid and that any subsequent changes would be considered invalid. HEEs that have in any case changed their lists of entrance subjects, should refer to the information published on 1st February, 2011.

HOORAY!!! Linguistics School leavers gained fantastic marks in the USE Russian language exam: 15 pupils out of the 22 participants got “5s”, 6 pupils got “4s” and only one got “3” (that’s 95% quality).

USE-2009 exam results for Linguistics School leavers
Hooray! High results in the Unified State Exam are becoming a tradition for our leavers. This year pupils sat the USE in the Russian language, mathematics, English, chemistry, biology, geography, literature, social studies and history. The number of excellent and good marks exceeds 80%, and … not a single “2”!!!

Enter a HEE with USE!
Now all Russian HEEs will have the opportunity to choose 3 out of 4 exams that were previously recommended as compulsory in USE format and to keep one specialised exam. Other than this, HEEs will be able to select all 4 of the compulsory exams thereby creating extra tests in the specialised subject. The procedure for conducting the exams should be validated in due course.

Deadlines for conducting USE in 2009
The Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency validated the timetable and deadlines for conducting the USE in 2009. Those with the right to early validation of their School Leaving Certificate sit the USE from 21st to 30th April. 2009 school leavers, institutions of primary and secondary vocational education graduates, and also those who were educated abroad will sit the USE from 26th May to 19th June.

My memories of the Linguistics School: Interesting teachers capable of passing on information about their subject. And, all in all, understanding people who help in the most diverse situations work in this place. If you are lacking in gumption, then this is just the place for you! It’s flooding with it there. If you want to sing, then sing, and if you want to dance, then dance, to recite poetry etc., go right ahead. The pupils are a disciplined body. Everyone knows who is who with everyone helping each other out and doing favours for one another. Festivities are also celebrated together. It’s fun here, yet a fun study atmosphere spoils nothing!!! Honestly, I’m glad that I studied in this School as before that I had studied in two others, but “Lingua” is the best! I’d put my name to every single word!

The establishment implements general secondary and (complete) high school education programmes, and also supplementary programmes in instructive, cultural studies and sport subjects.
To cultivate a determined, competent, educated, and well-brought up school leaver with a good attitude to society and life. A task the School has set for itself is to form a highly qualified, creative and friendly teaching team of likeminded people. The School’s teaching is based on a humane personal approach to education and raising pupils, the basic principle of allowing the individuality and uniqueness of each child to shine while taking into account each child’s right to a subjective attitude to social values and the surrounding world, the mutual unmasking of the personalities of teacher and pupil, and unanimity in demands from and respect for a child. 
The IT, Chemistry and Physics rooms are fitted with plasma screens and projectors. School pupils have the opportunity to use language laboratory equipment during 
The School’s success is catered for through care for pupils’ health on all fronts.
